The “flea” market earned its name in 1920s France, where used goods were displayed in the streets and inevitably created popular vacation homes for fleas and other unwanted critters. Why they thought emphasizing this fact would appeal to shoppers I will never know, but I digress…
Flea markets have come a very long way in providing vintage and recycled gems for bargain-hunters everywhere. I recently explored my local flea market to discover quite the array of goodies ripe for the taking buying.
For home products, these vendors caught my eye: Petite Four, Enid, Hip & Hippie, and Leah Duncan.
These vendors impressed me with their unique approaches to jewelry design: Tara Tonini (I picked up one of her “Watch Movement” rings. TDF! (to die for)), Ornamental Things, F is for Frank, and Pamela Michelle.
